Aries Auctions was launched around the time of Indipex and has since heralded a new era of philatelic auctions in India. It is the only auction house dedicated exclusively to philately. The founder of Aries Auctions, Ashish Talwar, is a philatelist of more than 20 years standing who formed Aries Stamps and Collectibles in 2006, which has among its achievements, the unique distinction of popularizing segments of Indian philately that were once considered unworthy for commerce. A sponsor and participant in all major philatelic events in India, Ashish Talwar is also a member of the reputed Philatelic Trader Society, UK; Royal Philatelic Society of London; American Philatelic Society; India Study Circle and other organizations. He is also the Secretary General of the Philatelic Dealers Association.
